Applicable Scenarios

The STU tote bin robot is suitable for high-density warehousing environments with a large number of SKUs, high order-line volumes, substantial piece-picking requirements, and high storage capacity demands:

  1. E-commerce and Retail: Goods-to-Person picking and rapid order fulfillment in distribution centers handling large SKU volumes.
  2. Commercial Warehousing and Distribution: Piece picking and replenishment for multi-variety, small-batch operations involving footwear, apparel, supermarkets, and similar industries.
  3. Pharmaceutical Distribution: High-density storage and piece sorting of medicines and medical devices.
  4. 3C Electronics: High-density storage of finished mobile phones and electronic components, as well as line-side material delivery.
  5. Book Fulfillment Warehouses: High-density storage and rapid picking of large volumes of books.

Product Advantages

1. Ultra-High Transfer Efficiency

The STU achieves a maximum travel speed of 3 m/s and a maximum lifting speed of 2 m/s, delivering more than a 100% increase in single-robot efficiency compared with the previous generation. Multiple STU robots can operate in parallel within a single aisle, increasing aisle throughput by up to 3 times. Combined with conductor rail power supply, the system supports continuous 24-hour operation and efficiently handles peak inbound and outbound demand.

2. Ultra-High Storage Density

The STU features a single-stage mast design that supports higher retrieval heights and narrower aisles. Combined with multi-deep storage and multiple tote retrieval methods, including hook-pulling and suction-cup mechanisms, it reduces the left-right and front-back spacing between totes by more than 20% and increases storage capacity within the same floor area by at least 25%. It supports single-level warehouse heights of up to 12 m and can be expanded into multi-level configurations to maximize vertical storage space.

3. Multiple Layers of Safety Protection

Each robot is equipped with front and rear dual-laser obstacle detection, while system safety interlocks help ensure safe human-machine interaction and equipment operation. The robot also incorporates error-proof picking and placing, lift anti-fall protection, and travel anti-twist protection. Laser detection monitors abnormal conditions and triggers obstacle avoidance responses to support reliable operation and personnel safety.

4. Flexible Adaptability and Easy Maintenance

The load-bearing chassis and lightweight body are designed for compatibility with conventional box-type beam racking, with options for rapid expansion to higher-load applications. The robot can operate at high speeds on conventional warehouse floors. Its modular design enables quick removal and maintenance of major components, while dedicated maintenance tools support rapid equipment replacement and help restore warehouse operations quickly.

Product Specifications

The STU (Super Tote Unit) tote bin robot is a new-generation robotic solution developed for high-density, high-efficiency warehousing. It travels along rack-mounted rails and performs high-speed horizontal and vertical tote transfers between elevated storage positions and buffer locations within the aisle. With ultra-high operating speeds and extremely narrow tote spacing, it significantly improves warehouse efficiency and storage density. It is a core piece of equipment in Goods-to-Person (GTP) picking systems and an upgraded replacement for traditional CTU tote robots.
