Automated Guided Transport Vehicle

Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) is a smart handling vehicle equipped with electromagnetic, optical, or laser guidance. It travels along a defined guide path and moves goods automatically. The vehicle includes the AGV body, navigation system (laser, magnetic strip, vision, or SLAM), drive system, battery and charging system, and scheduling management system. Load capacity varies by model, from 100kg to 5000kg. No-load travel speed is 0 to 1.5m/s and full-load travel speed is 0 to 1.0m/s. Positioning accuracy is ±5mm to ±10mm. Runtime is 8 to 12 hours with automatic recharge support. Control is handled by a central scheduling system with multi-vehicle coordination. The vehicle does not need fixed rails, and the navigation path can be changed through software, so it adapts quickly to process changes and warehouse layout adjustments.

When a site changes its layout or introduces a new process, a fixed conveyor path becomes a constraint. Software-defined navigation lets the AGV follow the new flow without civil work. This is useful in plants with mixed production and in warehouses where the picking area is reorganized from time to time.
